Nebraska Says Who May Serve. It Does Not Say What One Costs.
A clean Nebraska registered agent setup for $99 per year. You get the office address on file, scanned legal mail, and compliance reminders ahead of state deadlines.
Nebraska Registered Agent.co pays for this page and sells the $99 alternative to the service on it. Say that first, argue after. Second thing to say first: no renewal figure will be attributed to Inc Authority anywhere below, because none is published and a competitor's guess would be worth less than a blank.
What the State Discloses
Nebraska is specific about who may hold this appointment. Neb. Rev. Stat. § 21-113(c) opens the role to exactly two kinds of candidate: somebody living in Nebraska, or some other party already cleared to do business here. Two categories, printed. No interpretation required, no phone call, no account.
The address rule is equally plain. State filings carry the agent's Nebraska street address, and a PO box is allowed alongside that line but never in place of it. The company separately keeps a designated office inside Nebraska, which the act says need not be a place where it conducts any activity at all.
So before you shop, the state has already told you the qualification test in full. What the state says nothing about is price. Price is not its business. Price is the vendor's disclosure to make, and vendors make it or they do not.
What Inc Authority Discloses
Year one: $0, bundled with a formation package. That is genuine and it arrives when a new company has the least money it will ever have. No complaint from us.
Year two: nothing. A July 2026 read through their published pricing material produced no renewal figure, so our roster carries an empty cell rather than an invention. We will not estimate it, and we will not describe what it might be. Figures missing from a company's public pages generally turn up at checkout or on a call in this industry, though that is how the market tends to behave rather than anything we have verified about this company, and it should carry exactly that much weight.
Two Disclosures, One Missing
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HerePut the halves together and the shape of the problem is clear. Nebraska tells you, for free and in advance, exactly what it requires of the person you appoint. The vendor asks you to appoint through them without telling you the price of doing so past month twelve.
And Nebraska will keep asking. The agent requirement applies for every year your LLC stays on the register, not just the first, so what is being offered is a recurring obligation with half its price sheet withheld at the moment of decision. That objection stands whatever the eventual number turns out to be. It is about the shape of the disclosure, not the size of the figure.
Our Numbers, Both of Them
$99 the first year. $99 the second, and the tenth. What it covers:
- A compliant Nebraska street address on your public filings
- Service of process reaching your inbox the day we receive it
- Advance notice of the odd-year report window, January 1 to April 1
- Portal access to your complete document history
- Ordinary business mail forwarded at $15 an item, which is the only other line we can charge you for
Our floor claim is modest. BetterLegal lists $90, below our $99, so somebody in Nebraska advertises less. Ours ranks near the low end of the quotes a Nebraska buyer gets, and it is printed for both years where you can check it.
Cancel Inc Authority, File the Nebraska Statement
The mechanics are short and public, which is the point of the page.
- Get the replacement appointed. They must clear the test quoted above and hold a Nebraska street address. Do this before anything is filed. Inc Authority remains the agent on record until the state processes the change, so appointing first means the role hands over on one date with no interval when your company has nobody in Nebraska authorized to take a summons.
- Prepare Nebraska's change statement. One document covers the designated office, the registered agent, and the agent's address. Domestic LLCs use the domestic version. Enter the entity name exactly as the state holds it. There is no form number to find; Nebraska does not number its business forms, and a guide that quotes one is describing another state.
- Deliver it to the Business Services Division. Nebraska prices the filing at $25 electronically, with the portal adding its own small charge, and $30 in writing. The current documents, along with every charge Nebraska attaches to them, are posted at forms and fee information.
- Confirm, then close the account. Check the public listing for the new agent's name. Once it shows, cancel with Inc Authority. Not in the other order.
Also worth knowing: the biennial report cannot make this change for you. Nebraska keeps the two filings separate, so the statement is the only route at any point in the cycle.
Ask for the Number in Writing
Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.
Order HereIf a free year is running out, get the renewal quoted in writing before the card is on file. Do that and the moment becomes a comparison instead of a surprise, because our figure and the state's are both already in your hands.
