What does a registered agent actually do?

A registered agent accepts legal documents, service of process, and official state correspondence on behalf of your business during normal business hours. Nebraska requires every LLC and corporation to maintain one with a physical street address in the state.

Can I be my own registered agent in Nebraska?

Yes, if you are a Nebraska resident aged 18 or older and keep a physical address (not a PO box) where you are available during business hours. Many owners prefer a professional agent to keep their home address private and avoid being tied to one location all day.

How much does your service cost?

$99 per year, paid annually. That covers the registered address, same-day scanning of everything we receive, compliance reminders, and portal access — no setup fees. Scanning is unlimited for service of process, and your first three pieces of government mail each year are scanned free too. We don't do free physical mail forwarding on any plan; mailing you an original piece instead of (or alongside) the scan is a small per-piece charge if you ever want it.

What happens when you receive a document for my business?

We scan it the same business day and send a digital copy to your email. The original is securely stored, and the scan appears in your online portal for future reference.

How do I switch from my current registered agent to you?

Sign up with us and we handle the change-of-agent filing with the Nebraska Secretary of State. The state charges a $15 fee for that paperwork. The transition typically completes within a few business days.

When is Nebraska's biennial report due?

Nebraska LLCs and corporations file biennial reports between January 1 and April 1 in odd-numbered years. The online filing fee is $13. We send reminders well ahead of your deadline so nothing slips.

Do you provide a physical address for my state filings?

Yes. Our physical Nebraska address appears on your state records as your registered office. This keeps your personal or home address off publicly searchable filings.

I am forming a new LLC — can you be my agent from day one?

Absolutely. When you file your Articles of Organization with the Nebraska Secretary of State, list us as your registered agent and include our Nebraska address. You will be compliant from the start.

Is there a contract or long-term commitment?

No. Service runs year to year. If you decide not to renew, let us know before your renewal date and appoint a replacement agent with the state.

What happens if regular mail shows up at my Nebraska address?

Every Nebraska LLC and corporation needs a registered agent to receive legal documents. That is what we do. We accept service of process, lawsuits, subpoenas, Secretary of State correspondence, tax notices, and compliance reminders on behalf of your entity.

If a general (non-government, non-legal) mail item unexpectedly lands at your registered agent address, we'll scan it and send you a heads-up as a courtesy — that's separate from the free scanning that applies to service of process and government mail. We don't physically forward general mail on any plan; if you want the original piece mailed to you, that's a small per-piece charge.

Packages, Google Maps verification postcards, Amazon verification letters, and third-party verification mailings are outside our scope. We are a registered agent service, not a mail drop or virtual office.
