Nine companies will take your money to be your registered agent in Nebraska. This page ranks all nine. First, the disclosure: Nebraska Registered Agent.co built this ranking, put itself at number one, and sells the $99 service the ranking recommends. Weigh our opinion of ourselves accordingly. The prices carry no such caveat. Every competitor figure below is the advertised rate we logged in July 2026, printed as found, including the one that comes in under ours.

Why Row One Is Ours

The case, in five lines:

  • A process server visits our Nebraska office, and the papers reach your inbox as scans the same business day. Response clocks start at delivery, not at discovery.
  • $99 this year. $99 every year after. No teaser rate, no built-in hike.
  • Checkout offers one service, nothing stacked on top.
  • Your public record shows our Nebraska street address instead of your home or office.
  • We track the odd-year biennial window and remind you before it opens.

And the sentence we refuse to type: that we are cheapest. The cheapest registered agent service in Nebraska, going purely by list price, is BetterLegal at $90 a year. It keeps row three in our table regardless. What we claim is narrower: among the lowest flat annual prices sold in Nebraska, same-day scanning included, renewal identical to year one. Nine dollars separates us from the floor. What the nine dollars buys is in the bullets above.

2. Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest publishes its whole price sheet, and that alone puts it ahead of most of this list. Form through them and the first agent year is free. After that: $125 a year while you sit in one to four states, $100 per state from five up. Humans answer the phone. The privacy reputation is earned. What Northwest cannot fix is the arithmetic: $26 more than our renewal, every single year. Second.

3. BetterLegal

The cheapest published number in the table: $90 a year, stated plainly, verified in our July 2026 check. The gap in the record: how year one bills. The public pages never say. So BetterLegal offers a confirmed renewal behind an unconfirmed start. If sticker price decides your pick, fine, but read every checkout line first.

4. Rocket Lawyer

$125 a year, and it stays $125 at every membership level. No expiring promo. Good. The structure is the issue: agent service ships inside a legal subscription heavy with document templates and attorney consultations. If your business uses that stack, fair deal. If you only need an agent in Nebraska, some slice of the $125 pays for shelfware.

5. ZenBusiness

Best dashboard in the business. No argument offered. Now the price path: standalone signup runs $99 plus state fees, and year two onward bills $199 annually. Judge the service at $199, because $199 is what staying costs. The low first year is the doorway. The $199 is the room you will live in.

6. Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee is Incfile with a new sign out front. Buy a formation package and agent service rides free for a while, three months at the bottom tier, twelve at the top. If you were forming anyway, take the value. Just circle the end date: once the free months run out, standalone billing opens at $149 a year, and Bizee leaves the calendar-watching to you.

7. LegalZoom

$249 a year, auto-renewing, and our July 2026 check found no first-year discount to blunt it. That is the top fixed price on this page, attached to the industry's biggest name. Remember what the money is for. Nebraska requires an in-state street address, business-hours availability, and prompt handoff of documents. Every row does that identical job. LegalZoom prices the job highest.

8. Swyft Filings

$149 a quarter. Four quarters, roughly $596, the highest yearly total here. No first-year deal turned up in our check. Note what quarterly billing does: it keeps the annual sum off every page you see while subscribing. Our table leads with the annual sum on purpose.

9. Inc Authority

Year one costs nothing. The renewal costs something Inc Authority declines to print. In July 2026 we checked the homepage, the FAQ, and the premium packages; no renewal figure appears in any of them, which usually means checkout or a phone call reveals it. Unpublished pricing ranks last here as policy. You cannot comparison-shop a number you are never shown.

Nebraska Law Never Says Registered Agent

Open Neb. Rev. Stat. § 21-113 and search for the phrase. It is not there. Nebraska adopted the Revised Uniform Limited Liability Company Act, and the statute assigns every LLC two fixtures: a designated office inside the state, which need not be a place where the company conducts any business, and an agent for service of process. That second role is what the Secretary of State's own forms, and everyone else, call the registered agent. The qualifications run short. An individual agent must be a Nebraska resident. A company agent must hold authority to transact business in Nebraska. Filings must list a Nebraska street address for the agent, and a PO box can be added next to it but never substituted for it. The full text is at nebraskalegislature.gov. All nine rows in our table clear this bar, so the statute will not make the choice for you. The table has to.

The Odd-Year Report and the January Head Start

Nebraska LLCs report every two years, odd-numbered years only, under § 21-125(b). Business corporations file on the opposite beat, even years, so ignore any deadline advice borrowed from someone who runs a corporation. The window opens January 1 and closes April 1 of the odd year. The cost: $25 filed online plus a small portal charge, or $30 on paper. Your first report lands in the first odd year after the year you organize, which makes the next statewide window January 1 to April 1, 2027.

Use the front of that window. Nebraska hands you ninety days of runway, and a report filed the first week of January is settled business while the March crowd is still betting on memory. The downside case is severe: fail to file, receive the state's notice, and sixty days later the LLC can be administratively dissolved under § 21-130. A reminder ahead of the window ships with our $99.

One more limit: the biennial report cannot change your registered agent. Nebraska separates those filings. The next section covers the one that does the job.

Switching Costs $25 and Requires No Form Number

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Change your mind whenever. Nebraska prices the correction at $25 online or $30 in writing. The filing goes to the Business Services Division of the Secretary of State under § 21-114, and the document is the state's Statement of Change, one form that handles the designated office, the registered agent, or the agent's address as needed. It carries no form number because Nebraska numbers none of its forms; a guide citing one is describing a different state. Hire us and the statement becomes our chore: we prepare it, file it, and tell you when the record shows our address.

Forming new instead of switching? The document Nebraska wants is a Certificate of Organization, not Articles of Organization, and the state charges $100 for online filing or $110 in office, per § 21-117 with the fee set by § 21-192(1)(a).

The Verdict

Reread the table with the Notes column in mind. What a service charges is half the picture; what it publishes is the other half. On the first measure we sit among the lowest. On the second we have nothing hidden: $99 on every invoice, same-day scans of anything served, a Nebraska street address on the public record instead of yours, and the 2027 window already on our calendar. If row one survives your own reading of the evidence, starting takes a few minutes.
